The cookies used on nejmiozturk.com, their purposes and durations, and how to manage your preferences

In brief
  • This site uses the strictly necessary cookies it needs to work, together with analytics cookies that run only with your explicit consent; there are no advertising or marketing cookies.
  • A cookie consent notice is shown on your first visit. No analytics cookie is set and no measurement starts until you make a choice.
  • If you choose “Reject”, no analytics cookie is used; you still have the same access to all content on the site.
  • You can change your choice at any time by reopening your cookie preferences or in your browser settings.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that the website you visit saves on your device through your browser. Cookies allow the site to recognise you on the next page or the next visit, to remember your preferences and to work properly.

By duration, cookies are divided into session cookies (deleted when the browser is closed) and persistent cookies (which stay on the device for a set period); by source, into the site’s own cookies (set by this site) and third-party cookies (set by other service providers, such as maps or videos).

Which cookies are used on this site?

nejmiozturk.com uses the cookies strictly necessary for the site to work, together with analytics cookies that run only on the basis of your explicit consent. There are no advertising or marketing cookies on the site.

Strictly necessaryWordPress session and settings cookiesMaintains the session of users who log in to manage the site; usually not set for ordinary visitorsSession – 1 yearNecessary for providing the service (KVKK Art. 5/2-f)
Strictly necessarypll_language (Polylang)Remembers the site language you have selected1 yearNecessary for providing the service
Strictly necessarynz_cookie_consentStores the choice you make in the cookie notice (accept or reject) so that the notice is not shown again on every visit6 monthsNecessary for providing the service (KVKK Art. 5/2-f)
Analytics_ga and _ga_* (Google Analytics 4)Produces visit statistics: pages viewed, time spent on the page, device and browser type, approximate location (city level) and referring site. Set only if you consent.Up to 2 yearsExplicit consent (KVKK Art. 5/1)

The analytics cookies belong to Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, and are third-party cookies. The data collected through them may be processed on Google’s servers outside Türkiye; when you give your consent you are therefore also informed of the possible risks of that transfer abroad. Details are given on the KVKK Information Notice page.

Third-party cookies are controlled by the relevant service provider, not by this site; for detailed information about these cookies you need to consult the provider’s privacy policy. Third-party content such as maps and videos is not loaded unless you have consented to the relevant category in your cookie preferences.

How does cookie consent work?

A cookie consent notice appears at the bottom of the screen on your first visit. “Accept” and “Reject” are offered equally. Until you make a choice, no cookie other than the strictly necessary ones is set and no analytics measurement starts.

If you choose “Accept”, the analytics cookies start working and your choice is stored in the nz_cookie_consent cookie for 6 months. If you choose “Reject”, no analytics cookie is set and only your rejection is stored. Closing or ignoring the notice does not count as consent; as long as no choice is made, it is treated as a rejection.

Strictly necessary cookies do not require explicit consent under the legislation; they are needed for the service to be provided (KVKK Art. 5/2-f). Not consenting does not restrict your access to the content of the site in any way.

How long are cookies kept?

Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay on your device for the period stated in the table; for the site’s own cookies, this period is at most 2 years. You can shorten this period at any time by deleting the cookies in your browser.

How do you manage cookies in your browser?

All common browsers let you view, delete and block cookies. In Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge these options are found in the privacy or security part of the settings; because the menu steps change from version to version, we recommend checking your browser’s help page for the current path.

If you set your browser to block all cookies, your language preference may not be remembered and some page features may not work properly. On mobile devices, cookie settings are managed from the browser app’s own settings; in private (incognito) mode, cookies are deleted automatically at the end of the session.

How do you withdraw your consent?

You can withdraw your consent to the analytics cookies at any time. Reopen your cookie preferences and select “Reject”; analytics measurement then stops and the analytics cookies already set are deleted.

You can achieve the same result by deleting this site’s cookies in your browser settings; after deleting them, the consent notice appears again on your next visit. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

If you do not want the strictly necessary cookies either, you can block all cookies for this site in your browser settings; in that case your language preference will not be remembered.
